Zero Tolerance and Last Chances

Thanatos has posted what he claims will be the last mission.  Therefore, it is also our last chance to prove ourselves before the actual War.  The mission can be found here: http://sotanaht.com/zero-tolerance

Judging from the other documents also available, Zero's gone super to track down another super.  It looks like we're up against the real deal here, and he's bent on revenge at that.  Vengeance is the greatest motivator, after all.  Also the greatest danger to the vengeful.  Mistakes are easy, and decisions on a whim common.  This ought to be fun.

By this time tomorrow, we will hopefully have our orders.

Also, if anyone cares enough to hear Zero's comments on the situation: http://zeroishere.blogspot.com/

Outcast, signing off.

(P.S. I wonder where ai.r and Blackwood are.  I'm not one to let emotions rule my job, in fact I'm probably the least likely to out of us three, but I do wonder.  What do you say to a Villainous Trio mission of our own after this War is over, fellow villainesses?)

Business is Slow...

Not much happening around here, sorry for the lack of updates.  Mission 6 is out of reach, somebody snagged the claim on San Francisco before we could get to it, and civilian life remains consistently time-consuming.  Needless to say, I'm getting antsy.  Perhaps some solo villainy is in order.  It's been a while since I last climbed the school buildings....  Maybe a little quiet time on the roofs at night will do me some good.  I do love it up there.  And as M always said, stay up high and keep eyes open, right?

Updating the Unlocked Memories and documents tonight as well, then off to sleep.  Wish me luck actually getting any.

In Which Outcast Returns to Existence

Damn civilian life.  Damn civilian life and it's responsibilities and it's endlessly infuriating habit of getting in the way of my work.  So much to catch up on, so much to research, so many places to mark and people to punch and missions to accomplish....

But enough about the ironic stress of my "vacation".  Back to work.  Back to what I know.  Back to what I do best.

Thanatos has posed a very interesting challenge for us.  'Tick Tock Total World Domination'.  I must say I admire the attempted alliteration, even if it didn't quite pull through.  Perhaps 'Tick Tock Total Totalitarianism'?  No, that's just silly, and prompts me with the urge to rant about the government.  Which is apparently becoming Blackwood's thing.

On to Mission Five's details.  Our options range all over the world: Australia, United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, and our dear old US of A.  Obviously, Blackwood, ai.r, and I are more partial to the targeted cities in the USA, especially the one conveniently located less than an hour away!  Now, I'm not much one to let my emotions rule my job, but I'd be lying if I said I'm not excited for this.  Finally a task that involves going out and doing something.

However, the time crunch has me nervous.  Who knows where the Truth Soldiers could be lurking?  They could be on their way to claiming our San Francisco as I sit here, typing away each second to failure.

And I really don't take failure well.  Ask my accomplices any day.  You could call my bottled rage suppressed competitive edge a hubris of sorts.

Oh, and as for your last post, Blackwood.  I am, uh... sorry I caused you... concern.  But I can take care of myself without you two worrying over me.

...and I suppose I missed you both a little too.

So, nobody's been talking.

Good evening Babydolls.
I address you from a different side of the ocean than I usually do - I also address you despite the fact that my head is pounding just looking at a computer screen.
What I do for you people.

So, we got the emails. And we haven't done anything with them yet, since at the current moment, we're all separated (and the only reliable scanner of said boxes is my mother's phone). Yes, I know, we're being bad, but we should be back in commission Monday or so. I personally don't get out of here until Tuesday, but Outcast has spontaneously gone missing and we think she'll be back on the first of the week (but dear, we miss you...if you don't want roaming charges at least say so, so I at least know where you are).

Wondercon was lovely. The thrill of being a villain among heroes and having nobody know was greater than I expected it to be (especially when some of them wanted pictures. Oh the things they'll never know...).
Unfortunately, that many people all gathered up is an inevitable breeding ground for illness. So right now, I'm bedridden with what I hear people call the "Con-plauge" - aka we have no idea what it is but we feel terrible so let's put a label on it. Ai.r and I, despite being together basically the whole weekend, ended up getting two different things. How? We're not sure.
But god I feel terrible. I need to go back to sleep.
Anyways, don't expect posts from us for the next week or so. Outcast is basically MIA, ai.r and I are sick, and we're all in various locations and can't get in contact.

So goodnight Babydolls.

With love,
~Blackwood

Victory is mine!

Hello Babydolls~!
I got to the post first. HAHA.
Which should be enough to tell you new files are up. Seems our adversaries don't know much about Thanatos either. At first I was a little suspicious of his location (Who needs assassins in South America?) but then I remembered oh right, USA-established dictatorships.
Just, you know, in case you forgot.
(FYI - The government wants you to forget. Badly.)

So, 2009. Apparently this went down recently, very recently...
And given as the 'hero' of our story is unknown, it means he's either dead or assumed dead and actually missing - I wouldn't put it beyond those hero types.
Although if he's not associated with the conspiracy12 folks, then we have a third faction (I think conspiracy12 is at least attempting to be the neutral/information party, although they don't seem to like us much...), and that would be fun. Direct conflict yay!

But why, why would you call the project Thanatos? It's the god of death. That's basically ASKING for someone to come in and screw you up. Silly government.

Anyways, I have masks to make and buttons to sew and inane languages to learn.
Good...afternoon, night, whatever it is where you are, lovelies.

With love,
~Blackwood

Why must all this happen while I'm busy?

Really Babydolls, I think it might be a curse. I'm not busy all that often, but as soon as I am all of a sudden things start happening!
This is Blackwood.

Well, time is ticking until Wondercon and I'm nowhere near done with anything (schoolwork included, haha) but hey, we have updates!
So, the secondary bit of Mission 3 and Mission 2 have been completed - the password was sword, for those slow on the uptake. And of course it's the weapon, jeez. Oh well, I'm just glad we got it and I'll never have to look at those infernal number circles ever again. Victory!

And it seems Outcast has beaten me to updating the main post. My dear, you are quick on your toes, good work.

Anyways, that's all for this short update. Things have been accomplished, hooray!
Now to bury myself in the lives of people who made decisions important to the world long before my parents were born.
Oh, my joy knows no bounds. Now, excuse me while I pound my skull into the wall.
Oh Pandora, what would I ever do without you?

With love,
Blackwood

St. Peter, urges to wander, and real life.

Hello Babydolls, this is Blackwood.

So, for those of you who don't know, there is a Thanatos blog. The link is here, you should read and subscribe and whatnot.
And, concerning the coordinates we were given, I posted this as a comment to the blog entry -
Keep in mind it's an upside-down cross - something goth kids have taken on as a sign of 'rebellion' or whatever, but it's actually the cross of St. Peter, who chose to be crucified upside-down. Hey, Roman Catholic upbringing is actually helping me here. How about that?
I'm not sure if they could go religious like that, but Peter could be on the table (especially with all the 12 references we've been getting - 12 disciples much?).
Just a thought.
As I said, it's just a thought - I don't know the nature of these people any more than the rest of you do, unfortunately. But all the times I've been forced into a congregation for an hour or so at a time has done odd things to my head.

Question : Is it possible for an agnostic to have a better knowledge of the traditions and commonly used bible verses of the Roman Catholic church than an actual Roman Catholic?
Answer : Yes.

And yes, I'll admit the Wikileaks jab set me on edge. I've been in support of what they've done and are doing since I heard about it, and I do believe Assange to be innocent (I also believe they are unfairly holding him right now). Just to get that cleared up. Let's not make this a huge debate please, it's not exactly what we're here for.

Now, here's my philosophical banter for the hour.
Urges to wander.
This isn't strictly villainous - however, I never claimed to be strictly anything.
But most everyone knows the mood - you randomly look up a hill or down a street and have a sudden and insatiable urge to go there. Doesn't matter where it takes you (because you'll be together?) because it'll take you somewhere you've never been before. The hills around my town seem perfect for this - the gated communities around this town make it extremely sub-par. That's not to say getting over the gates is difficult - don't make me laugh - but what lies beyond them is never interesting. Just the same suburban oh-look-at-all-my-money bullshit. I'd rather wander around with the cows, even if it does mean dodging pies.
But I came across one of these personally today. Just looked up a hill I'd never been up before and bam, before I knew what I was doing I was almost across the street towards it. I couldn't go then - but I plan to. I'm of the belief that these random urges to go to a specific place mean something, and hey, if I'm lucky, maybe I'll find something interesting. I'll be sure to let you know if I do.

And now for real life.
Outcast, ai.r, and myself will all be at Wondercon. Outcast is only there Friday, ai.r and I are planning to stay all weekend. If anyone else is going to be there, drop a line. It'd be interesting to meet up. If not, no harm done. We'll be there with each other regardless, and we'll possibly have a few moments of interest to show you when we get back - if you get lucky, of course.

And Outcast, my dear, if you were onto me, I wouldn't catch you so often. Don't let me get to you too often, or I'll start to think you like it. Love you too.

Love,
Blackwood

Oh, another random observation before I go - I'm not sure who put the tiny maple leaf on their forehead, but it made me giggle. Go Canada!

Edit : Haha, forgot this like a dolt. Outcast and I got the country code in properly and we have heard the message. It wasn't anything beyond the web address, so nothing we didn't already know. Carry on!

Compiling Post of Rewards/Conspiracy Reports

EDIT: New pages! New material will be *starred* with each edit

This will make progress much clearer, and should be updated with each new reward/discovery, by either myself, air, or Blackwood.

First, Thanatos' Pages.

And now for the Conspiracy12 field reports:

The mysterious site pages Thanatos unlocked with the combination code:

And with that, Outcast out. Video of our mischief will be posted later this week.

Steal My Job, Will You? We'll See About That.

And thus, I am commanded by my own dignity to make an enormous post of all the information and various shenanigans we have yet to post.

The first thing to address is the intriguing '00448444875305' that Blackwood and air have already spoken about.  The name's been generally confirmed to be a phone number that we three can't access on this side of the pond.  If any international villains would be interested in telling us exactly what happened when a call does get through, it would be more than appreciated.

On a larger scale, Thanatos seems to be experiencing a similar mysterious visitor.  Our master was sent a cryptic field report from 1990 titled 'They Have Escaped'.  He posted it on Twitter, and I've reposted it here in case you're too dense or lazy to find it yourself.

The Twelve.  Nine test subjects.  The combination.  'Eleven down-- one more to go".  "Truth Soldier Zero".  Whatever's going on, it has quite a bit to do with numbers.  Which is more than a little annoying, considering letters are much more of my forte.

Speaking of letters and numbers.  Some of you sorry lot seem to have actually made some headway on the combination, according to our master.  Color me surprised.  Maybe I'll take a look into what's been gathered when I feel compelled....

On to the next point of order: Mission Three.  Thanatos' Sin has reached 50 friends on Facebook, earning us one of the two possible rewards and unlocking it.  Here it is for your viewing pleasure.

At least now we know just how the organization deals with their problems.  Search, locate, and destroy.  No monologuing, no grand sweeping gestures.  Simple and utterly dull.  Now, I may be one for planning before execution (key word being before execution, not during or after, air!), but that doesn't mean I forfeit at least leaving a mildly sardonic sign I was there.  These undercover organizations have no sense of fun.

And yet, with the discovery of this ominous Conspiracy12 (oh look, more numbers.  Hooray.), I am intrigued.  I also adore the jab at WikiLeaks, even if it's just because it pisses Blackwood off.  Hah.

Link to Conspiracy12's site: http://www.conspiracy12.com/
And before I forget, his Facebook page as well: http://www.facebook.com/people/Thanatos-Sin/100002071642898

What with how quickly Thanatos seems to be rewarding us with pages, I thought I'd organize everything we have so far in order, just for the sake of referencing.  I'll put it in a post shortly after I post this one, along with the files on Conspiracy12 thus far.

And not all rewards are even pages for the developing comic!  We also got a glimpse at our potential allies (or competitors, should the tides turn).

I note with more than a little pride that we three are the only ones wearing legitimate masks.  A little originality was used with some of these masks, at least.  Maybe some of you are actually as serious about this as we are.

In other news, our little trio have been at some of our own shenanigans outside of Thanatos' assignments.  What can we say, we like to keep moving.  It's been mostly innocent marking (as we like to call it) so far, but we filmed a few videos of our routines at some of our favorite haunts.  Here's a few previews.
Blackwood, creeping up behind me to invade my personal space again.  I'm on to you.

air, in search of some blank wall to mark.

Blackwood's mask, my (Outcast's) own mask, and our trusty back-up camera.

A loyal example of marking.

Told you we took our jobs seriously.

And with that, I have wasted far too much time reaffirming my job as the logistical villainess.  I suggest you two save yourselves the effort and admit defeat now.  A second post of the comic book pages and Conspiracy reports will be up shortly.

Outcast, signing off.

Dear 00448444875305...

Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth.

Mysterious, rightous commenter:
Why did we become villains? Villains have all the fun. Besides, we don't have any other plans for our lives, so we might as well do whatever the hell we want. Who cares about everyone else? Outside of an immediate group of friends or allies, it's every man for himself. That's just how the world works, like it or not.

Hah...if you haven't noticed, you're not dealing with the most compassionate people.

And to my fellow villains:
0 0 4 8 4 4 4 8 7 5 3 0 5
Anyone have an idea what these numbers mean? I know it's supposed to be a phone number, but I don't get anything when I call it, and apparently neither does Miss Blackwood.

And yeah, Outcast, that's right. Your job has been stolen.

~ai.r

Concerning the comment on my last post...

Hello Babydolls, this is Blackwood.
I know, I can make actual logistic posts too. Outcast, better be careful or I might steal your job!
Might I start with mentioning I am very suspicious of anyone who puts a phone number as their name that I cannot call. On three phones even! Good thing is I have not only my fellow villanesses to make the connection, but another group (some of which live in the UK, which Skype thinks is where our mysterious commenter lives) that can actually call this number. Ill-played, monsieur. Ill-played.

But, I hope I speak for all of us when I say welcome, Seekers of Truth. Welcome.
I shall accept this as an affectionate challenge. You're welcome to bump shoulders, but really sir, toe the line.

With love,
Blackwood

On having a secret identity

Hello Babydolls, this is Blackwood.

I'm with Outcast right now, waiting for ai.r's arrival (speaking of being late, dear), and it just occurred to me that this project is making something unusual.
Villains with secret identities.
Let me explain. As you know, the good guys always have normal lives. Superman is Clark Kent, Batman is Bruce Wayne, and Wonder Woman is Diana Prince. But Lex Luthor is always Lex Luthor. The Joker is always The Joker. Obviously The Joker enjoys a unique kind of insanity that is characteristic of Batman villains and would keep him from leading a 'normal' life (as normal as Gotham gets), but Lex is interesting. He owns a massive corporation. Why wouldn't he have another name he goes under when he's not attempting to kill the overpowered boy scout?
It's an interesting question, but of course, in fiction it comes down to being able to find the villains - to be able to see them without them seeing you. It's part of that whole 'good always wins' concept that we are attempting to overthrow.
But in the meatworld, as I call it, such things are impractical. Yes, I have a secret identity - it's good for not getting arrested everywhere I go. My fellow vilenesses have them as well - we know each others for the sake of convenience and contact. There is no faster way to be caught or tricked than knowing nothing about each other.
But that's off topic. I feel it's necessary, having a 'law-abiding citizen' running around for me. Of course I can't completely repress what I do - the same way the superhero type feels the urge to do good even when they're not in spandex. So perhaps the girl I pretend to be is far from perfect - but she's less suspicious than being masked all the time, isn't it?

Perhaps, at a future time, we could all meet unmasked and make the network bigger. But for now, I'll address you through a screen and hope the message gets out.

With love,
~Blackwood

The Third Villainess

I'm late/I'm late/For a very important date/No time to say "Hello"/Goodbye/I'm late, I'm late, I'm late!

I am always late. It is generally my first impression, and usually my defining trait to people who don't know me very well. I wake up late, stay up late, and arrive late.

So here I am, late to the party as usual.

I am joining Outcast and Blackwood on the road from mischief-making to glorious evil, completing our Villainous Trio. Let's see where this goes.

Mission One Rewards

Thanatos says Mission One is officially completed, and the results are encouraging to say the least.  Just take a look for yourself at how many villainous hopefuls have already joined our ranks!

On top of that, he's also rewarded us with another page in what definitely looks like a comic book now.  Here it is.

Faceless government figures mysteriously named "The Twelve"?  That must relate to the "eleven down--one more to go" comment in the previously released page 11.

Heading over to Blackwood's lair in a few minutes, so I'll leave you goons to speculate more on our little reward.  I might put up a post of all our discovered reward pages soon.

That is all.

On number codes

This is Blackwood.
We have found the encanced number clue - we're not yet sure what to make of it either.
Short entry, but there isn't much to say.

Wednesday, March 16, 2011

Hello, Babydolls.

This is once again Blackwood, coming in with a bit of a long-winded bit, but hopefully not an entirely unentertaining one.

It's never been hard to abandon the duties and line-toeing of civilian life - as my friends have said, I suffer from a chronic case of what they call 'I don't give a shit' so going from not giving good god damn to abandoning them entirely? Not so difficult.
That is not to say I ditch every day and go smoke pot and pretend to be a 'rebel'. They're just as bad. It's easy, painfully easy, to be out of control - it's hard to be magnificent.
I search for magnificence.

Not a seductive magnificence. I've never been a seductress - and I will never be a seductress. I don't want them to think I'm human, let alone be somebody's fap-toy alone in his bedroom at night. It's disgusting and I won't take it, even as the means to an end. Let me blow open the door in broad daylight instead of sneaking in the back.
And let me have all of you at my side when I do it.

So, my dolls, don't reject the system - rise above it. It's time to stop sticking our heads in the sand and pretending we're not more than this.

Who's with me?
~Blackwood.

Also, Outcast, I noticed that the ones and the sevens shine differently than all the other numbers. It's consistent from circle to circle. Hope that helps.

Mission Two Spectulations

Outcast here.  So far my non-villainess alter ego has been too busy to give me much time to work on this combination.  Regardless of time given, however, I have a feeling cracking this is going to be a little more difficult than expected.  Here's the image.

A lot can be gathered by simply looking at it.  Five slots for a number or letter to fit.  Seven rings, each with eight digits.  Each "?" seems to point to two numbers.  I think this is similar to a padlock in the sense that we must find the right numbers, in the correct order, to solve the puzzle.  My main doubt is that it could be entirely opposite of that, and the numbers represent letters.  Six out of the seven rings are identical but for the top digit, but what does that mean for the odd ring out?  Blackwood also noticed the 1's and 7's seem to shine differently.  I've jotted down some information just for the sake of making things a little more linear:
Rings:
7-8-6-3-0-0-0-6
5-0-9-5-7-0-3-1
4-0-9-5-7-0-3-1
3-0-9-5-7-0-3-1
5-0-9-5-7-0-3-1
5-0-9-5-7-0-3-1
3-0-9-5-7-0-3-1
X-0-9-5-7-0-3-1 <-- (Mostly) constant numbers

"?" Slots:
6-1   (=7?)
9-3   (=12?)
9-0   (=9?)
9-0   (=9?)
9-1   (=10?)

Looking at this, I realize that the "?" slots point to 9's on every left-handed ring, except for that same outlier first.  That first ring has got to be important somehow.

In other news, our blog is on the site. We are officially on the map and in the open.  I might actually consider collaborating with some of the other bloggers... if my pride allows me to admit I'm not nearly as savvy with these combinations as I used to be.

Which is doubtful.

Mission One

Complete!  The challenge was to mask yourself, and so we did.

My entry under the alias Outcast.

ai.r's entry.

Those are some damn fine masks.

Now for that combination in mission two.....

--Outcast

Hello there, babydolls.

This is Blackwood.
To say this is an honor would be pretentious of me - so let's say it's about time. There are things we know, people like me, maybe people like you, things we can tell from when we were little, that we just aren't cut out to run the straight and narrow. Maybe it's little things, like always preferring the dark to the daytime. Liking to be alone, wearing things other people stare at you funny on the street for, little stuff like that.
But then again, that could be attributed to just being a teenager.
But people like us...we know, don't we? There's just a little extra spice in sliding out the window at night to who knows where. There's a near-audible gunshot that rings in our ears when we know there's something interesting.
We just...know.
I've known for a while.
I've known since I was little.
Do you know?

But that's a little more than I could be bothered to say now.
So let's leave it at this -
I'm excited as hell.
Let's go.

~Blackwood

I Am Clearly Very Bad With Names...

...as the title of this blog may tell you.  Thank god I have two partners-in-crime to come up with the names for this stuff, or we'd be doomed.  Alas, seeing as it's 1:40am, I can't exactly ask them for better alternatives at the moment.

To get straight to the point, we three are here to participate in Thanatos' little challenge I discovered a few days ago.  Just like his site says, our training to become masked villainesses has begun.  Considering the combined corruption our little trio already has under our belt, I think it's safe to say we have a pretty good start.

I, Outcast, as the first person to discover Thanatos' mission, have already completed mission one, which is to mask myself.  I will upload my submission along with my accomplices when they've completed it too, for the sake of organization.  Meanwhile, seeing as mission two has already been posted, I'm getting to work on that.

Number combinations.  Why couldn't it have been a letter cipher?  Like a Caesar?  Or a Pigpen?  I'm too sleep deprived to really put much effort into it now, but it's proving surprisingly difficult.  So much for all that residual cipher knowledge from back in the day.

Anyway.  I vowed to finish this before 1:30, and am now on the brink of 2:00, so I'm going to cut myself short and send this link off to Thanatos now.  Needless to say, I'm curious to see where this goes.

Outcast, Signing off.
